Listeria is a serious food-borne illness that can lead to fatal infections in people with weakened immune systems, the elderly, and young children. It can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, so pregnant women should be especially careful to avoid infection.
Symptoms of Listeria include headache and fever, stiff joints, stomach pain, nausea, and diarrhea. If you think you might have been exposed to Listeria, seek medical attention promptly.
